World Champion 2002 Stephanie Pettersen

I am so stoked, so happy, so pleased!

It's been my dream for the last 7 years. I have got closed few times, but doing it now it makes a big difference. It's been hard work travelling, competing and being a mom at the same time. Also for the past year, I have been dealing with an injury, which made competition a lot harder, but at the same time gave me determination, and a greatest drive for my goal.

!And of course to God! I am pleased to be able to share my happiness with him.

I'm not sure what I will be doing next year, probably few events, I'm not sure if all. I have been on the road, non-stop, for 14 years. I will be happy to just stay home now, and concentrate on doing some coaching next year with Surfing Australia at their new Surf Recreation Centre at Casuarina Beach here in Australia. My hopes are that our sport will gain more recognition and respect around the world, which will deservedly make it stronger and better. And bringing this title home for Australia will influence on opening door for Australian Women's bodyboarding!

I would like to dedicate this title to Matt Walbrou and David Legleye.
